Annual and Special Town Meeting – May 21, 2018
Please be advised that the Maynard Select Board, acting at their January 9, 2018 Select Board’s meeting voted five to zero: “To set the date and time of the Annual and Special Town Meetings as 7 pm. on Monday, May 21, 2018 respectively and to designate the Fowler School Auditorium on Tiger Drive as the location for the Annual and Special Town Meetings.”
Citizen’s petitions must be submitted with the question presented at the top of each side of the signature page. They must be submitted to the Town Clerks Office and certified by the Town Clerk in order to be included on the warrant.
The deadline for submission of Citizens Petition Articles for the Annual Town Meeting is Noon Friday April 6, 2018 and April 6, 2018 for Special Petition Articles (Per Charter, at least 45 days prior to the town meeting for annual town meeting and at least 45 days for special town meeting).
The Town Meeting warrants will be available here and at Town Hall on May 3, 2018.
The warrant document was finalized on April 19, 2018 and sent out for printing. Subsequently, some typographical errors were found. The version to be voted at the Town Meeting will include the edits noted in the Edits to the Published Warrants (PDF).
Finance Committee Public Hearing – May 14
The Finance Committee held a public hearing on May 14th at the Maynard Town Building, Room 201, to present background information and recommendations on warrant articles for both the Annual and Special Town Meetings to be held on May 21st. Presentation will information on the budget, capital plan, and other Articles. All town residents were welcome and invited to attend. There was a question and answer period to help residents better understand the articles’ intent.

Voter Registration Deadline is May 1st
Tuesday May 1, 2018 is the deadline to register to vote for the Annual Town Meeting on Monday May 21, 2018. The Town Clerk’s Office will be open on MayY 1, 2018 from 9 am until 8 pm to register voters. Voter registration forms must be received by the Board of Registrars or postmarked on or before the registration deadline for the election or town meeting.
