Conservation Commission
About the Commission
The Conservation Commission is responsible for the protection and management of natural resource areas and the administration of the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act (General Laws Chapter 131, Section 40), including the Rivers Protection Act, The Maynard Wetland By-Law and the Stormwater Management By-Law.
In Addition, the Commission oversees 203 acres of Conservation land and is responsible for several Conservation Restrictions on private property.

The Commission is comprised of five voting members who are appointed by the Select Board, each for a three-year term.

Mission
The Conservation Commission and Conservation Division's Mission is to:
- Administer the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and Maynard Wetlands By-law
- Administer the Maynard Stormwater Management By-law
- Undertake land acquisition
- Undertake land management
- Undertake public education and public participation
Meetings
All meetings are held via Zoom and start promptly at 6:30pm on the date listed Below. The Agendas for all meetings are posted by the Town Clerk at least 48 hours prior to the meeting. Applicants must submit all components of the application on the deadline by 3pm. Please refer to Obtaining a Wetlands Permit for application requirements.
