How to Post a Public Meeting- Open Meeting Law

Meeting and Agenda Posting Requirements for all Town of Maynard Boards, Committees and Commissions

The Town Clerk's Office is responsible for posting agendas that contain complete information in order to meet Open Meeting Law as well as provide clear and transparent meeting information to the public to inform and encourage civic participation.

According to state law, "a public body must provide the public with notice of its meeting 48 hours in advance, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays."

Therefore, notice of public meetings must be received by the Town Clerk’s Office at least 49 hours before the meeting is to be held, in order to ensure that it is posted in time. 
To meet this requirement and allow for proper processing, all meeting notices must be submitted during the following hours:

Monday – Thursday: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Friday: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Notices submitted outside of these hours may not be processed until the next business day. Departments, Boards, and Committees are encouraged to plan ahead to avoid delays in posting.

Additionally,  NO agendas, decisions, acknowledgements will be posted or stamped by the Town Clerk’s Office on election days.  Election Schedules can be found here- Elections & Voting

How to Submit Agendas & Meeting Minutes

Agendas- must be in PDF format, and emailed to- posting@townofmaynard.net This includes amendments and/or cancellations. Confirmation of receipt of all postings will be made by the Town Clerk's Office.
