DPW LABORER/SKILLED LABORER
The Town of Maynard is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Laborer/Skilled Laborer. Responsible for manual work in the construction, installation, repair and maintenance of roads, bridges, grounds, systems and facilities; performs heavy lifting in the pick-up of debris and performs general maintenance work. 

Utilizes both hand tools and power equipment to complete assigned tasks. Performs manual work in the installation and clearing of pipes, patching or resurfacing of roads, removal of trees, leaves, brush, trash or refuse and in the installation or replacement of fences, posts, rails, or signs. During operation, observes performance of equipment and reports malfunction to Supervisor. Cleans and maintains equipment, facilities and grounds.Public Works

Requires Valid Driver’s License and US DOT Physical Card or equivalent as per Massachusetts Department of Public Safety. CDL & Hoisting licensure preferred, but will train.

Compensation: Laborer/Skilled Laborer starting pay $24.34 - $25.87 per hour, 40-hour work week.  Position includes a 90-day probationary period and requires working some weekends and on-call responsibilities.  Position is available immediately.

VAN DRIVER PART-TIME - COUNCIL ON AGING SUBSTITUTE DRIVER 

$22.00 PER HOUR


We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of PT/Substibute COA Van Driver to operate 8 & 12 passenger vans with wheelCommuter Vanchair lifts. Driver will transport Maynard senior citizens over the age of 60 and disabled residents throughout Maynard. Job duties include assisting passengers in and out of van, operating a wheelchair lift and securing passengers in seatbelts. Must have the ability to carry packages or groceries in and out of van for passengers and provide light assistance when necessary.   Working knowledge of the layout of the Town of Maynard is helpful.   Knowledge of Massachusetts driving rules and regulations is required.  Basic technological skills are necessary including use of cell phone and tablet as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Minimum Entrance Requirements:  High School Diploma or equivalency. Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required. CPR certification or willing to receive training.

 

Preferred Qualifications:   Two (2) years experience driving bus or passenger van.
